Stockport Dance Centre opened its doors in 2004, Founded by Paul Duffy School Principal and Fellow of the United Kingdom Alliance along with his partner Angela Caine (AUKA).
Offering Adult Ballroom & Latin classes, Argentine Tango, Children and Young Adult classes, weekly Practice nights, Dancing Cinema nights, social events away from school.
Paul began teaching Ballroom & Latin American Dancing in Cheshire in 1987 and has since taught all over the U.S.A and U.K. In the late 1990's Paul taught in New Mexico before moving to the Dallas Fort Worth area with Angela to take up roles as advanced teachers and teacher trainers.
Paul is qualified teacher of the highest level and is Fellow of the United Kingdom Alliance, a former British Dance Council and World Dance Council accredited International Adjudicator and has trained under many great teachers such as Bob Dale, Derek Young and former UKA President Miss Ann Green. He currently adjudicates at Medalist and Supadance Competitions as well as teaching around the UK. Angela has danced since she was a child in Manchester and also trained under many great teachers throughout her dancing life.
In the early days Paul danced with Bob Dales Greater Manchester Latin Formation Team before a serious knee injury whilst training for the British Open ended his competitive ambitions.
We invite all levels of dancers to take part in our very busy classes. Teaching Waltz, Fox Trot, Tango, Argentine Tango, Quickstep, Viennese Waltz, Rumba, Cha Cha, Swing/Jive, West Coast, Nightclub 2 step, Hustle, Merengue, Charleston, Paso Doble, Mambo and Bolero. Also from time to time we teach the popular sequence dances.
The curriculum consists of a new dance every 3 weeks. We initially aim to get you to a confident social dance level which would be ideal for busy floors on cruise holidays, dinner dances or any occasion where there is music played. We are happy to accept single dancers and couples onto our courses as we feel that there should be no barriers to anyone that wishes to learn. We believe strongly in diversity.

SDC provides excellent tuition and a lovely environment in which to learn to dance. Paul and Sarah are very supportive and give instructions that as a beginner are easy to follow and help you to progress. The dances change regularly which keeps the classes interesting and diverse. Everyone is really friendly giving each class a lovely atmosphere. The practise nights on a Friday are really good fun and give you a great opportunity to practise what you've been learning and gain confidence. I can't recommend the centre enough
